An interactive session here organized by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) discussed on ways and means with honourable MPs to usher in industrial resurgence in Uttar Pradesh - - which happens to be nation's largest state.
Themed on Developmental Issues of Uttar Pradesh, saw BJP MPs from various constituencies representing Uttar Pradesh, batting before the audience promising to extend all possible help in drawing investments in their respective areas.
Speaking during the occasion, Ravi Wig, Chairman, India-SAARC Business Promotion Council said, "Industry must go to the rural areas as 75 percent unemployment exist there but rued about the lack of infrastructure there. Industry and agriculture must work in tandem."
Taking the stage, BJP MP from Baghpat, Satyapal Singh highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation in the state which was impeding the industrial growth in Uttar Pradesh.
He said, "law and order is most important, not a single person feels safe and secure in the state. That's why no one likes to make investment here as no one wants to come here as the investor knows that he won't get any return."
He added that Baghpat was a neglected and a deprived region. He cited an example saying that when the railway line which was introduced in 1907 in Baghpat has not since then been converted into double line.
Another BJP MP from Etawah, Ashok Dohre discussed about building a plastic city in his constituency. He cited that abundance of gas and electricity as the prime factors behind which this city should come up.

Mukesh Rajput, BJP MP from Farrukhabad called upon the apex industry body to invest in his constituency, especially in food processing sector as he said that there was huge potential in potato that's grown and that from the tuber, industry could easily make use of it by making potato chips and other items. He cited that his area has a huge abundance of labour and hence the cost of labour was nominal. (ANI)
