According to stats from UK-based aviation data monitors OAG, Bristol has been named as the world's most punctual aviation hub in 2014 with 94.4 percent of its flights on or off the ground within 15 minutes of schedule while Latvia's airBaltic emerged as the most punctual airline.
Europe's busiest airport at Heathrow could not make it to the top rankings with London Luton as an exception. Bristol airport was followed by Brussels South Charleroi Airport at 93.1 per cent and Berlin Schoenefeld at 92.3 percent of its flights being punctual, reported News.com.au.
In the most punctual airlines list, Hawaiian Airlines stood at second position with 92.3 per cent and Austrian Airlines at 90 percent of its flights on or off the ground within a few minutes of schedule.
OAG executive vice president John Grant said that the study was the company's first annual "Punctuality League" which was positive.
Japan's Osaka International Airport secured the top position for medium sized airports with 93.2 percent of its flights running as scheduled. The most punctual large air hub was Munich Airport.
Norwegian Air Shuttle was named the most punctual low-cost carrier, with almost nine out of 10 flights running as scheduled.
