English road and track racing cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins claimed his first win of the season in the Tour of California.
The 34-year old who rides for the UCI ProTeam Team Sky, secured his first victory of the season after he finished the race 30 seconds ahead of his opponent Rohan Dennis.
According to The Guardian, Wiggins had set his stall to conquer the championship and was honoured to win the yellow jersey. He further dedicated his triumph to his Sky teammates, commenting on how they never gave up the chase after they had been distanced on the climb.
Gaining significant elite success, the British cyclist is now targeting Tour de France and said that if he rode in the tournament it would be in support of his Sky teammate Chris Froome, the defending champion.
