England woke up to a Gabba horror story on Sunday, as one UK newspaper described the first Ashes Test loss as 'slaughter at the Gabbatoir'.

According to News.com.au, after the dominant 381-run win, England's newsmen were clearly unimpressed with the manner of Australia's victory.

Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Lyon and Stuart Broad received praise but the UK press were less forgiving with the rest of the English team, the report mentioned.

David Warner was Australia's leader of the chirp in Brisbane and obviously got under the skin of several English players and reporters, the report said.

England will head to Alice Springs for a two-day game before flying south for the second Test in Adelaide, the report added.
