It turns out Brits would rather keep worrying about their problems than actually doing something to fix them.
In a survey of 2,000 adults, commissioned by Direct Line, it was found that while 2 out of 3 adults in Britain didn't want to deal with up to four emotional troubles at a time, relationship issues were the ones people wanted to avoid most, the Daily Express reported.
It was found that both men and women tried to indulge in fixing in some small home problem like unblocking a sink, as a way to avoid dealing with a bigger emotional problem, with 41 per cent saying they liked to pretend everything was fine.
While women were more likely to turn to music, shopping or a new haircut or look to avoid talking about their feelings, men were more likely to purchase a gadget.
Psychologist Dr Linda Papadopoulos said that they were prioritizing physical tasks and ignoring the important emotional issues, but it was really important to learn to fix things in lives that were not going right.
