England fast bowler Stuart Broad has called on his teammate Ben Stokes to channelise his World Twenty20 nightmare into success and emerge as a strong player ahead of the upcoming home Test series against Sri Lanka.

Stokes was hit for four successive sixes by West Indies' all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite in the last over of the World T20 final, which consequently ended England's hope of clinching their second title.

Back in 2007, Broad, the current world number one Test bowler, was also hammered for six sixes by Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh in the inaugural edition of the World T20. But, the England speedster used the setback as a motivation to reach where he stands currently.

Recalling the incident, Broad insisted that he has immensely improved as a bowler since the 2007 World T20 hammering, Sport24 reported.

Backing Stokes to display similar traits as him, Broad described the former as an amazing player and observed that he will surely perform at the top level in upcoming matches.

England will kick start their home internationals with a three-match Test series against Sri Lanka, starting at Headingly Oval from Thursday.
