Despite England having a miserable winter in terms of cricket, its Twenty20 skipper Stuart Broad believes the team will resurrect itself during the summer.

Having gone down by just three runs in a pulsating Super-10 stage Group One match against South Africa, and out of the WorldT20 tournament after two defeats in three matches, Broad candidly admitted that it has been a frustrating winter for England.

But he said a new era of English cricket is in the offing after a tough winter.

Broad, according to Sport24, sought to take away some positives from the WorldT20 exit such as the form of Alex Hales.

He conceded that Proteas captain AB de Villiers's 29-ball 69 not out made the difference between the two sides.

Broad said losing some key players-Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Luke Wright-ahead of the tournament also hurt England.

He hoped younger players will grab their chances in the summer.
