William Shatner has revealed that his life was a mess when 'Star Trek' went off air in 1969 and he was forced to live in a truck.

The 82-year-old actor, who played Captain James Tiberius Kirk in the science fiction television series, asserted that he ended up living out of his car because of him being cash-strapped, Metro.co.uk reported.

Shatner confessed that it was in the early 1970s when he got recently divorced and had three kids while being totally broke.

He further added that he managed to find work back east on the straw-hat circuit but he couldn't afford hotels therefore, he lived out of the back of his truck, under a hard shell.
