BSF chief visits Akhnoor Sector following Pak ceasefire violations

The Director General (DG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) D K Pathak today visited the Pargwal and Kanachak border areas of Akhnoor Sector to assess the damage to life and property caused by recent ceasefire violations by Pakistan.

He confirmed that 40 BSF posts had been targeted in the firing from across the border. He said, "Akhnoor has been targeted last night and proper reply has been given."

After meeting the people there, Pathak said, "We have talked to people and BSF. The administration has been taking care of people."

Pakistan forces had resorted to heavy firing along the International Border in Kanachack, R S Pura and Pargwal Sectors of Jammu earlier today.

The firing which started around 9 p.m last night injured two civilians in R S Pura sector.

BSF troops have been retaliating to the firing from across the border effectively.
