Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) attacked the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav over deteriorating law and order scenario in the state.

Expressing concern over the law and order situation in the state, General Secretary of BSP Satish Chandra Mishra said that the number of cases of crime has surpassed all limits and attributed these aspects to the patronage extended by the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) to the culprits and mafia syndicates in the state.

"Today the cases of theft, robbery, burglary, illegitimate ransom, kidnapping, murder, rape and communal riots and tensions have reached the peak in the state. And the support offered by the ruling Samajwadi party (SP) to the culprits, mafia, anti-social and criminal elements is the main reason for such trends," he told media here today.

He also criticized the statement made by the UP Chief Minister on Maywati and said that such utterances were uncalled for and instead, Akhilesh Yadav should work towards revamping the police.

Akhilesh Yadav on July 27 attacked the BSP supremo Mayawati's frequent demands to impose President's rule in the state, and asked her not to come to Uttar Pradesh if everything was so wrong with the state.

"If the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh (Akhilesh Yadav) wants to get rid of this accusation, then he should combat the issues pro-actively and revolutionize the law and order of the state," Mishra added.

Earlier, Yadav had accused Mayawati of plundering the state funds, and even termed her as a self-centered dictator, caring little for the welfare of the people of the state.
