Former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha on Saturday said the Union Budget for fiscal 2015-16 is very strong on the social sector side as there was a lot in it for the common man.
"The Finance Minister has done an extremely competent job to meet the challenges which were in the economy and looked after the interest of every segment of population . I find this budget very strong on the social sector side because there is a lot in it for the common man," Yashwant Sinha told ANI.
"He has done a good job as far as infrastructure is concerned, we should see more and more investment in infrastructure," he added.
Sinha pointed out that Jaitley had put more money in the hands of investors and consumers through the various tax saving schemes.
"He has put more money in the hands of investor and the consumer through the various tax saving schemes that he has incorporated in the budget and hopefully people will take advantage of that and feel more comfortable as far as the spending is concerned," he added.
The former finance minister, however, added that the there could have been an increase in the exemption limit.

"And maybe he could have raised the tax on the super rich from two percent to 2.5 percent and given a relief to the middle class," Sinha added.
He also called Jaitley 'realistic' for accepting that he won't be able to bring down fiscal deficit by 3 percent in two years.
