Australian opening batsman Joe Burns has said that he is not sure of his Test spot in the squad following the likely inclusion of Usman Khawaja for the Boxing Day match against West Indies.

According to Sport24, Australia are set to recall Khawaja for the second Test match and, thereby, leaving Burns and Shaun Marsh battling for their spot.

Khawaja made a roaring comeback from his hamstring injury by scoring an unbeaten 109 from just 70 deliveries to help Sydney Thunders claim victory over the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash Twenty20 League.

Speaking on the selection, Burns admitted that it would be a tough call for the selectors to choose the appropriate combination for the upcoming Test.

The 26-year-old said that he had worked extremely hard with a view to make himself ready to play.

Australia are currently leading the series 1-0 against West Indies and the two sides will next play in Melbourne (from December 26) followed by the third Test in Sydney, starting from January 3.
