Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ranjanben Bhatt, defeated her nearest rival by a huge margin on Tuesday to win the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat.
The Vadodara Lok Sabha Seat and Maninagar Assembly seat were vacated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier, while eight other assembly seats were vacated following BJP MLAs election for Lok Sabha.
BJP is also leading at seven out of the total nine Assembly seats that went to polls in Gujarat.
Party spokesperson Sambit Patra had said earlier that the BJP has always fought the elections on the lines of development and the local issues.
Speaking to ANI, Patra said, "The by poll would be victory for the Bharatiya Jananta Party and is going to be the 'bye-bye' day for Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress Party. We have always fought the polls on the line of development and local issues."
He also said that the people of Uttar Pradesh will give a befitting reply to SP as the law and order situation in the state is in a state of dismay.
But trends show that the Samajwadi Party is leading by a huge margin in the Mainpuri Loksabha seat as well as on seven out of the eleven Assembly constituencies.
