California Walnut Commission, in association with Peddlers, Uncle Jack's and Sindhi Sweets is hosting the city's first ever walnut festival, which will take place at The Peddlers Elante starting November 6
The festival will serve and present Indo-Western fusion delicacies with California Walnuts like Walnut Kebab, Walnut and Cheese Cigar, Walnut Fries, Baked Honey Walnut and Walnut Delight to name a few.
"The idea is to highlight the usage and versatility of walnuts in the tricity and showcase them a 'go-to' nut for cooking and snacking, befitting any meal or occasion. Not only are they heart-healthy, but also the only nut with a significant amount of plant-based omega-3 making suitable for vegetarians. We hope our esteemed guests will enjoy this delicious and healthy treat we have in store for them and will make walnuts a part of their daily diet plans," said Pamela Graviet, senior marketing director, International at California Walnut Board and Commission.
"Walnuts offer great taste and texture that holds up to a variety of flavour pairings. They can be served raw, toasted, candied, spiced and incorporated into a variety of recipes. Considering the city's growing demand for healthy snacking and finger food options, walnuts are the ideal choice to include in our menu; they are not only healthy but are also a wonderfully versatile ingredient to work with," added Vipul Dua, CEO, Peddlers.
