AfriForum, the civil rights organization, has called upon chief executive of Cricket South Africa, Haroon Lorgat, to undergo a lie detector test in order to determine whether race prescription were laid down for the composition of the AB de Villiers-led team during the just concluded World Cup.

Earlier in the week, Lorgat had slammed reports that claimed he had sent coach Russell Domingo, an SMS informing the latter to choose a player of colour for the high-octane semifinal clash against New Zealand last week.

Unconvinced with his denial, Kallie Kriel, the CEO of AfriForum, said that Lorgat has the opportunity to restore his name in honour with the lie detector test and should he tell the truth, he has no reason to refuse undergoing a lie detector test, Sport24 reported.

Kriel insisted that South African cricket enthusiasts, in particular, have the right to know whether the team that is being supported, was chosen on merit.

Kriel, however, said that AfriForum would lodge a formal complaint against Cricket South Africa to the International Cricket Council if Lorgat refuses to undergo the test.
