The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Canada, is leading a delegation of over 20 Canadian companies and associations active in the agriculture, agri-food and seafood sectors until March 11, 2017 to India. This visit is aimed at strengthening the trade relationship between Canada and India.
As a part of the program, Minister MacAulay is travelling to Delhi and Mumbai and is holding meetings with Indian counterparts, government officials, business leaders and industry representatives, to discuss topics of common interest and expand opportunities between the two countries.
A highlight of his program includes: AAHAR food show, where Minister MacAulay will deliver a key note address and inaugurate the Canada pavilion, along with H.E. Nadir Patel, High Commissioner for Canada to India.
Talking about his India visit, Minister MacAulay said "The Government of Canada firmly believes in the importance of trade, and the Asia-Pacific region is a priority market."
The representatives of visiting Canadian companies will showcase high-quality agriculture products including canola oil, seafood, snack items, health and energy food/drinks, cereals, flax products, sugar-free items, gluten-free products, bakery goods, processed foods, confectionery, juices, and fresh and dried fruits, including apple products amongst others at the Canada pavilion in AAHAR.
