Former American gymnast Shannon Miller reportedly gave birth to her second child with husband John Falconetti, following her recovery from ovarian cancer.
According to Miller's representative, the Olympic gold medallist and Falconetti welcomed their second child, daughter Sterling Diane on Tuesday, adding that both mother and child are healthy and doing well, US Magazine.com reports.
The report said that fifteen months after the birth of their first child, son Rocco, in 2009, Miller was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which required surgery to remove her left ovary and the cancerous cyst, followed by nine weeks of chemotherapy.
Recalling that period of her life, Miller had said that her baby plans had been put on indefinite hold because of her cancer, adding that instead of calling her parents to tell them that they had another grandchild on the way, she had to tell them that she may have cancer.
Now cancer free, the Magnificent Seven gymnast, who won gold at the 1996 Atlanta Games, said that she is more grateful than ever for her family and their 'miracle baby', adding that even though she has been blessed to have the opportunity to do great things in her life, being a mother is second to none.
