Carol Vorderman has revealed that she will be embarking on a daunting solo expedition around the world to complete her idol Amelia Earhart's quest.

The television presenter aspires to be like her aviation heroines Earhart and Amy Johnson.

She has studied the life and times of Earhart, who was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic, the Mirror reported.

The British media personality will attempt to recreate and complete, the American flier's daring but doomed 1937 flight around the globe.

The co-host of ITV's 'Loose Women' said that it is something she has always wanted to do and she has got to the point in her life where she just decided to for it.

Vorderman, who will be followed by her beau Graham Duff, a former Red Arrows Squadron Leader on the trip in a support aircraft, asserted that she is obsessed with flying.
