Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has said that although Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez is too good for Liverpool, he should not be joining Arsenal.
According to metro.co.uk, Carragher, who retired from professional football at the end of last season, has waded into the debate on Suarez as speculation over his future continues.
Carragher said that Suarez is one of the top players in the world, whereas Liverpool were only the seventh best team in England last season, adding that his talents were greater than the stage on which he plays, and not only does he deserve to play in the Champions League, he should also be winning it.
However, despite Carragher being adamant that Suarez should go, he is not entirely set on the idea of him joining Arsenal either, the report said.
The former player said that in recent years, Arsenal had not challenged for the trophies and had not made an impact in the Champions League.
This all comes amid claims that Suarez is preparing a formal transfer request in his latest bid to try and exit Liverpool, the report added.
Suarez is expected to meet with agent Pere Guardiola over the weekend to decide what happens next, the report further said.
