A catholic nun, who has been living in an all closed nunnery in San Severino, Italy for more than 2 years, has given birth to healthy baby boy.
The 31-year-old woman, whose name has been kept discreet by the local media, said that she had no idea she was pregnant, and thought she was getting stomach cramps when actually it was labor pains, the Daily Express reported.
An ambulance was called after the pregnant nun collapsed in the Santa Chiara nunnery, and she is now recovering in Bartolomeo Eustachio Hospital with her sisters reportedly at her bedside.
According the reports, the sisters living in the nunnery, who have taken vows promising "chastity, poverty and obedience," have shown interest in taking charge of the baby.
The news comes one year after 33-year-old nun Roxana Rodriguez made headlines by giving birth to a baby boy. She had said that she was happy and felt more of a mother than a nun.
Meanwhile, an anonymous nun had said that they wouldn't be visiting her since what she had betrayed her vows, and would not be allowed to come back.
