Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal on Monday said the central government was ruining the image of the Uttar Pradesh Government on purpose.

"Wrong messages are being given about the Uttar Pradesh Government, and I think, the central government is behind it," said Agarwal.

"Where is a state where there is no crime against women? We are very concerned about it, we need to come together to fight it," he added.

SP leader Rajendra Chaudhary said that a demand for president's rule is being made since the time Akhilesh Yadav became the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.

"We are trying hard to develop the state, and it is only through development that this can be achieved, and the people understand this well," said Chaudhary.

"But from the moment Akhilesh Yadav took over as the CM, the opposition has consistently been demanding imposition of president's rule in the state," he added.
