'Centre accepts recommendations of 14th Finance Commission': PM Modi in letter to CMs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the Centre has accepted recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission, which will help strengthen the federal spirit of the country.

Prime Minister Modi, in a series of tweets, shared the contents of his letter to the Chief Ministers of India.

"In my letter to CMs, wrote about the Centre accepting recommendations of 14th Finance Commission, which will strengthen our federal spirit."

"Never before has there been a 10 percent increase in devolution of divisible pool of resources to the States. This is unprecedented and historic."

"Total devolution to the States in 2015-2016 is higher than in previous years, giving more power to States for their progress journey."

"Yes, Centre will be left with lesser funds but we want to strengthen hands of States in pursuing their development agenda as per their needs"
