Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grand nephew, Chandra Kumar Bose, on Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted the demand for rewriting the 'true history of the Indian freedom struggle'.

"The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is committed to finding out the truth about the disappearance of the liberator of India. We have requested the prime minister that the true history of the Indian freedom struggle must be documented and published. Prime Minister Modi has accepted the demand for rewriting history," Bose told ANI here.

Bose and the 'The Open Platform for Netaji' organised a rally on the occasion as well.

Chandra Kumar Bose is the convenor of Netaji Open Platform.

In December, Bose, through an open letter, asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce the former's birth anniversary (January 23) as 'Patriots Day' or 'DeshPrem Diwas'.

"The people of our nation would be happy if the NDA government declare 23rd January, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, as 'Patriots Day' or 'DeshaPremDivas'," Chandra Kumar Bose had tweeted.
