Charlize Theron, in a recent interview with a leading magazine, has spoken out against outdated standards, where ageism is concerned.

The 40-year-old Oscar winning actress feels that we live in a society where "women wilt and men age like fine wine," reports the New York Post.

Accepting the fact that there is no "less worry for women as they get older than there is for men," the 'Mad Max: Fury Road' star said that women are waiting for the society to change their "unrealistic standard of what a woman is supposed to look like when she is over 40."

Theron even feels that even being an Oscar winner hasn't made it easier for her to navigate the pressures of gender biases in the movie industry.

Recently, to reprise her role as an envious mirror-adoring Queen Ravenna in 'The Huntsman: Winter's War,' a prequel to the story of 'Snow White and The Huntsman,' Theron insisted that her pay be equal to that of Chris Hemsworth, who portrays Brighton there. As a result, both were paid over 10 million dollars.
