Chaudhary Birender opens account with Twitter, Facebook

Union Rural Development Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh on Monday joined the social networking sites Twitter and Facebook inorder to communicate with the public, which would help him in decision making.

In his welcome tweet, he underscored the importance of two way communication in decision making.

"I believe two way dialogue is key to governance and PM @NarendraModi's initiative @digital India is a laudable step towards this goal," Birender Singh tweeted.

The Minister is also active on facebook and can be reached at www.facebook.Ch.BirenderSingh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi after coming to power had asked all his ministers to open Twitter accounts and create Facebook pages, in a bid to fulfil his stated objective of transparency and participation in governance.
