Chelsea Clinton has announced that she had decided to leave her job at NBC News after three years to focus on other work and to prepare for motherhood.
The 34-year-old former First Daughter said that she was moving on but is grateful for the opportunities she was given as a special correspondent, Us Magazine reported.
Clinton said on a message posted on Facebook that when she joined the NBC family in 2011, she had long respected NBC's commitment to telling the stories of 'ordinary people doing extraordinary things and was proud to "continue this important legacy."
She said that to continue focusing on her work at the Clinton Foundation and as she looks to welcoming her first child with her husband Marc Mezvinsky, she decided to leave her job.
Clinton announced her pregnancy in April, at the 'Girls: A No Ceilings Conversation event in New York City'.
