Chelsea are reportedly believed to be closing in on a 16.5 million-pound deal in order to bag Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis, raising further doubts over their defender Ashley Cole's future at the club.
Cole's contract at Stamford Bridge will expire this summer and the defender has reportedly had to settle for a bit-part role in Jose Mourinho's side throughout the second half of the season, with right-back Cesar Azpilicueta impressing in his place.
Although there had been speculations that Chelsea were looking for a move for Southampton defender Luke Shaw, but the 30 million-pound price tag, plus strong competition from Manchester United seems to have made Mourinho consider other club players, Metro.co.uk reported.
Speculations are that Chelsea are now targeting both Filipe and his teammate Diego Costa, who plays as a striker for Atletico, for a move to Stamford Bridge, the report added.
