Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday laid the foundation of Medical College and inaugurated Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna in Surguja zone.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda was also present during the ceremony.
"We are starting the PM's biggest Yojna, that is the Ujjwala Yojna in which five crore people will be given LPG cylinder and gas stove. Both the Centre and state government have combined their subsidies and will sell a gas stove worth Rs. 4,000 for just Rs. 200," Singh said.
Last month, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) was launched in Chhattisgarh, as per which about 25 lakh poor families in the state will get a gas connection which means out of every 100 families, 75 will have the gas connection.
