Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is eyeing victory for the third time in a row, on Friday dismissed the presence of a wave in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the state, and alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been exposed over the last three months.
"Modiji is not contesting the election for the Chief Minister's post. Issues on which the Lok Sabha polls and assembly elections are fought are different.......The BJP has been exposed in the last three and a half months," he told ANI when asked about the BJP riding high on Modi wave for the assembly polls.
Hooda further said that the farmers and poor are suffering, and added that rampant inflation has added to the woes of the people.
"This is the reason that the BJP did not do well in the by-polls in Uttarakhand and Rajasthan," he added while expressed confidence of his party's splendid performance in the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls.
Prime Minister Modi will launch the BJP's poll campaign for Haryana by addressing rallies from October 4. He is expected to address a rally in Karnal on the first day of his campaign.
The assembly elections in Haryana will be held on October 15 while the counting of votes will take place on October 19.
