The Bharatiya Janata Party, noting that Delhi does not function as a normal state, criticised Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's ongoing row with Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung over the appointment of Shankuntala Gamlin as the acting chief secretary.

"Delhi is not like any other state. Because there was a demand for Delhi having a government of its own, we created some provisions, but [Kejriwal] is not a full-fledged Chief Minister. So, everything has to go through the LG and the President," BJP leader Subramanian Swamy told ANI.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay accused the Delhi government of spoiling the career of a 'capable' woman officer by accusing her of being corrupt.

Jung on Friday had appointed Gamlin as Delhi's acting chief secretary despite strong opposition from Kejriwal.

Meanwhile, Gamlin, in a written complaint to Jung, claimed that she was being intimidated and blackmailed by senior officials of the Delhi Government.

She also accused the state government of casting aspersions on her integrity to service and levelling false charges.
