China has welcomed Brazil's initiative in bracing up for the sixth BRICS (Brazil, China, India, China, South Africa) summit that will ensure mutual trust, solidarity and mutual benefit among members of BRICS.
The BRICS summit is likely to plan out future strategies with respect to well-established progress, said Zhang Jun, Director General of the Department of International Economics Affairs of China's Foreign Affairs Ministry.
According to the China Daily, Zhang said in a statement that the sixth BRICS summit is also expected to progress considerably on core issues, including the BRICS Development Bank.

In the past one decade, the group has contributed more than 50 percent of world's GDP. BRICS members are committed towards world's common good alongside pursuing their own interests, said Zhang.
