China has decided to expand rural reforms and step up agricultural modernization in the countryside to ensure farmers profit and bring prosperity to them.
A statement issued after a two-day central rural work conference said that arable land never shrinks to less than 120 million hectares and link agricultural subsidies with grain output, the China Daily reports.
According to the report, agriculture is still the weakest among the four pursuits of industrialization, informatization, urbanization and agricultural modernization in the countryside.
