Chinese Ambassador to India, Le Yucheng, on Saturday said he hoped trilateral relations between India, China and the United States would contribute greatly to world peace and development.
"China and India are neighbouring countries and we support India's foreign policy to develop relations with other countries. President Obama coming to India for a visit, I think it is a reciprocal visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the US. So, we are glad to see the smooth and sound development of relations between US and India," said Yucheng while speaking at a conference 'Shaping the 21st Century: India, US and China', organized ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit to India early next year.
"The trilateral relations between India, China and the US will contribute a lot to world peace and development," he added.
President Obama, who will visit India in January next year at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi, will be the chief guest at India's Republic Day celebration.
Chinese President Xi Jinping had visited India earlier in September this year during which Prime Minister Modi raised serious concerns over the repeated incidents of incursions along the Line of Actual Control and sought an early settlement of the boundary question.
During Xi Jinping's visit, India and China had signed 12 agreements for expanding cooperation in trade and commerce, railways, health and culture.
