An article signed by China's President Xi Jinping has drawn widespread praise from all quarters of Pakistan and has raised hopes that his upcoming historic visit to the nation will open a new chapter for China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.
The article published by Pakistani press on the eve of Jinping's state visit to Pakistan called for advancing cooperation with Pakistan in various areas, reported Xinhua.
Sartaj Aziz, National Security Adviser to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, described the article titled "Long Live China-Pakistan Friendship" as "incisive and warm." He added that the article was right in placing confidence on the fact that the relations between the two nations would be lifted to a new height in the coming years.
Pakistan is the first stop of Jinping's first overseas trip this year. The Chinese president is expected to visit the country Monday and Tuesday before traveling to Indonesia for an Asian-African summit and activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Bandung Conference.
Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain has said that the visit will provide a "historic opportunity" for further deepening the time-tested all-weather friendship between the two countries.
