The 70-year-old will portray the character of Angelo "Gyp" DeCarlo, the real-life mobster, the BBC reported
Jersey Boys is a so-called "jukebox musical" that charts the origins of vocal harmony group the Four Seasons and has been a hit both on Broadway and in the West End.
The film adaptation was resurrected in May 2013 after 'Iron Man' director Jon Favreau, who was hired to direct it in 2010, left failing to agree a budget with the Warner Bros studio.
