Australian captain Michael Clarke has backed batsman David Warner to bounce back from a troubled tour of England.

Clarke arrived at Australia at the end of an England campaign which included a 3-0 Test series defeat and a 2-1 victory in the one-day series.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Warner was fined and suspended after punching England batsman Joe Root in a nightclub, averaged just 23 over three Tests and was dropped from the one-day squad.

However, Clarke insisted that the 'power-hitter' still remains a crucial part of the Australian setup across all three formats despite his problems in England, saying that he is sure that Warner is training hard to prepare for their heavy workload in the coming months.

Clarke further said that he is confident that Warner will grab 'with both hands' any opportunity that may come up in front of him in the future.

Clarke was encouraged by the efforts of paceman Mitchell Johnson with his performance in the one-day series against England, although he was philosophical about another spate of injuries to Australia's pacemen, with Ryan Harris, Jackson Bird, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and James Pattinson all sidelined.
