Australian captain Michael Clarke and veteran wicketkeeper Brad Haddin have reportedly been named in Australia's one-day squad to play against India in the seven ODI series, although troubled batsman David Warner and spinner Fawad Ahmed missed out.

Although Clarke's name was among the 14-man team selected for the ODI series in India from October 11, but whether he makes the trip or not depends on treatment for his chronic back problem.

According to Sport24, Haddin, who captured an Ashes series record of dismissals in July and August, was the surprise inclusion, winning his place on the back of a lean England one-day series by alternative keeper Matthew Wade, which Australia won 2-1.

Stating that Wade has been omitted due to lack of form, national selector John Inverarity however, said that as Wade is young and has a great deal of natural ability both as a keeper and a batsman, they are confident that Wade will regain form and press hard for selection in the future.

However, the report said that Warner, who missed the first two Ashes Tests after being suspended in the run-up to the series for punching England's Joe Root and was dropped for the one-day matches against England, also was omitted along with Pakistan-born Ahmed, who made his international debut in England.

The report mentioned that Ahmed was replaced by Xavier Doherty as the only specialist spinner in the squad, with Inverarity saying that Doherty was better suited to Indian conditions than Ahmed.
