Clarke pulls out of Melbourne Stars

Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke has pulled out of his contract with domestic Big Bash League (BBL)team Melbourne Stars, saying his body and mind need time away from cricket.

The 34-year-old said that he is looking forward to a break from the game.

Clarke said that retirement from international cricket had prompted him to consider his wider future as a player and as a human,Sport24 reports.

The veteran player wanted to experience how it feels to be away from cricket.

Clarke scored 8,643 runs in 115 Tests and retired from international cricket after the fifth and final Ashes Test against England at The Oval.
