Australian captain Michael Clarke had written in his diary that the hardest part about the Mickey Arthur sacking was that he felt bad as a man, and since the coach was encouraging to the team, he definitely would have liked to see them achieve their potential.

According to News.com.au, Clarke also said in his diary that he could not believe Arthur was not going to be on the journey to England with them.

Clarke had also recently said that the sudden change of coach of his team had a positive impact on his team, which, he added, had performed better in England in the summer Ashes than the 3-0 result reflected.

He further said that he is proud of how the team coped with some significant challenges, including an impression that Australia was a team divided, adding that the turmoil brought them together as a team.
