Australian captain Michael Clarke has said that the sudden change of coach of his team had a positive impact on his team, which, he added, had performed better in England in the summer Ashes than the 3-0 result reflected.

Even though Clarke admitted that England deserved to win in the series as they had outperformed Australia, he believes that the sacking of Mickey Arthur and the coming in of Darren Lehmann so close to the summer Ashes had a huge, albeit a positive, impact on the team.

According to Telegraph.com.au, Clarke said that the brand of cricket in Australia has been changed for the good after the coming of Lehmann, adding that the sacking of Arthur was one thing the entire team voiced as a complete unit, despite their other individual differences.

Hailing Lehmann as a 'fantastic guy to play with', Clarke also said that he had learnt a lot from Lehmann as a youngster when the coach played in the national squad, adding that he is still learning from him as a head coach and loves the brand of cricket that he is promoting.

Clarke further said that he is proud of how the team coped with some significant challenges, including an impression that Australia was a team divided, adding that the turmoil brought them together as a team.
