Brimming with confidence after their victories over Bangladesh and Thailand in their first two games of the Women's Asia Cup T20 tournament, the Indian women produced yet another professional performance to beat Pakistan by five wickets at the Asian Institute of Technology Ground here on Tuesday.
Winning the toss and opting to field, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team was clinical with the ball, allowing the arch-rival to make just 97 runs in their stipulated quota of 20 overs.
Ekta Bhist was the star bowler for India, taking three wickets for 20 runs in her four overs. Anuja Patil and Kaur took two-two wickets each.
For Pakistan, Nain Abidi was the highest scorer playing an unbeaten knock of 37 runs.
Chasing the target, Mithali Raj, India's star performer during their victory over Bangladesh in the tournament opener, once again played an appreciable knock of 37 runs before getting caught and bowled to Sana Mir.
Kaur, the Indian skipper, remained unbeaten on 22 to ensure the team cross the line with four balls to spare.
