CNN presenter Fareed Zakaria is faced with a fresh round of controversy over plagiarism allegations pertaining to his earlier work.
According to New York Post, Newsweek and the Washington Post have apparently taken fresh looks and are concluding that some of his past work is indeed questionable.
Zakaria is being strongly supported by CNN, where the Indian-born American journalist and author hosts a weekly show, "Fareed Zakaria GPS."
Fred Hiatt, the Washington Post's editorial page editor admitted on Monday that five of the six columns by Zakaria struck him as problematic in their absence of full attribution.
Hiatt, who initially defended Zakaria, said that this was unfair to readers and to the original sources.
Plagiarism watchdogs at "Our Bad Media" website on Monday published articles by Zakaria where he had used information from other sources without attributing them.

Zakaria was earlier involved in a plagiarism row in 2012, following which he was suspended from CNN and Time for several weeks.
Hiatt reportedly said the organisation will take a fuller look over the next day or two, but it probably will attach messages to the archived editions of the five original columns.
