South African coach Russell Domingo has ruled out the need for a mental conditioning coach for the team in the upcoming World Cup, which gets underway from February 14 in Australia and New Zealand.

Speaking at the team's official send-off in Johannesburg, Domingo said that they were not taking a mental conditioning coach, adding that he had tried to approach the World Cup in the same way as any other series, Sport24 reported.

Asserting that his team is mentally strong enough to go into the World Cup, Domingo raised a question that why create the anxiety when they had been playing so well without it.

Domingo further said that he feels the team was in as good a space mentally as they had ever been, adding that they had won games in high-pressure situations under different conditions at different venues, the report added.

Following a disastrous tour of Australia, where South Africa lost the five-match ODI series 4-1 to the hosts, AB de Villiers' team beat the West Indies at home ahead of the World Cup.
