Ryan Harris, who has recently been appointed as the assistant coach for Australia A, reportedly wants to use his first coaching venture to teach Pat Cummins the need for patience.
Harris said that he is looking forward to catching up with Cummins, who returned from a back injury for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League in January, the most.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Harris said that Cummins might have another setback or two or three in his career but patience is the key to deal with that adding that Cummins' body is nowhere near developed yet and it will take a couple of more years to develop.
Harris said that Cummins knows that he is good enough at international level, as he has played before in it, adding that it is just a matter of playing first-class cricket and get strong.
The paceman said that one does not get conditioned for fast bowling unless one is bowling so Cummins needs a good first-class season or two to get that right.
Harris, who returns from a knee surgery after bowling Australia to a famous series win over South Africa in Cape Town, said that he also eyes the 2015 Ashes as his goal to make a comeback to Test cricket, the report added.
