Colin Firth is set to take the lead in an upcoming feature based on the true story of amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst and his attempt to win the first round the World Yacht Race in 1968.
The project, which will be helm by the 'The Theory of Everything' director James Marsh, is produced by Pete Czernin, Graham Broadbent and Scott Z. Burns, alongside Nicolas Mauvernay and Jacques Perrin of Galatee, Deadline.com reported.
The film, which will begin in the spring, was developed with Christine Langan from BBC Films and Studiocanal and Burns wrote the script.
Both StudioCanal and BBC Films are financing, with StudioCanal distributing across its own territories.
