Former England batsman Paul Collingwood believes that Scotland could pose a significant threat to Eoin Morgan's men in their World Cup group stage tie on Monday in Christchurch.
Collingwood, who led England to the 2010 T20 World Cup title, has been roped in as the assistant coach of Scotland for the sport's pinnacle tournament.
Backing Scotland to put up a strong performance, former T20 skipper said that the guys were getting closer and closer against international opposition, the BBC reported.
Scotland displayed a strong bowling performance as they caused batting collapse of New Zealand before Brendon McCullum's men eventually scraped a three-wicket win in Dunedin.
Collingwood further said that it would be an amazing feeling if they could get that first-ever World Cup win under their belt, and there was no better time than against England, adding that it would mean so much to Scottish cricket.
Reflecting on England's dismal performance, Collingwood said that England has got the most powerful batting line-up they have ever had if they pick players like Ravi Bopara in the middle-order and Alex Hales up the top.
