Commonwealth Games live on All India Radio

All India Radio plans to bring programmes (Live/Highlights) on the Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow this year from July 24th to August 4th.

The live coverage will includes a curtain raiser on July 23, the opening ceremony on July 24 and the closing ceremony on August 4.

All India Radio will also broadcast live commentary of all hockey matches (Men's and Women's) featuring India, including the semi-finals and the final.

India-specific men's and women's matches and the finals of the badminton events will also be covered live by AIR.

Daily highlights capsules will be broadcast daily from July 24 to August 4, 2014 in the morning as well as in the evening.

This special coverage will come on AIR's National Channel, National Hook-up and FM Gold Network.

On days when the cricket test matches are on between India and England, commentary will be there on the FM Gold Network, programmes on Commonwealth Games will also be aired on FM Rainbow, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Chennai instead of FM Gold Network.

AIR will also broadcast live commentaries on the India specific men's and women's matches and final matches of the badminton event. The timings and the mode of broadcast will be intimated later.

The above programmes will not be carried over DTH or the internet.

Regional capital AIR stations will record the curtain raiser and the daily highlights capsules for the regional language versions broadcast in the morning transmission on the same day and will be relayed by other interested AIR stations in their respective state.

All India Radio, Delhi will also broadcast hourly live updates to be carried by all FM Rainbow Channels from July 24 to August 3, 2014 from 3.30 p.m. to 2.30 a.m.

Besides the above, latest information along with the sound bites as far as possible will be broadcast on FM Gold and FM Rainbow Channels breaking into their usual programmes whenever any medal is won by India or any athlete gives a notable performance.
