The Congress Party on Thursday asserted that unlike the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), they don't give fake promises and would work for the betterment of people once they win the MCD polls.
Congress state unit chief Ajay Maken told ANI that the grand old party would be concentrating on the developmental issues like economic growth of the MCD, its self reliance, along with improvement in the education and health system of the national capital and focus on cleanliness.
"We have already received two lakh applications from all over Delhi for the forthcoming elections. Congress plans to set a roadmap to beat BJP and AAP at a conference, to be held on March 6 at Ramleela ground", Congress leader Ajay Maken told ANI.
Municipal elections are likely to be held in second half of April and the model code of conduct will come in force in March.
As per the mandate, the municipal polls are required to be completed before April 27.
