Senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Kapil Sibal called on President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday evening to apprise him about the dramatic turn of events taking place in Arunachal Pradesh.
"We brought the President up to speed about what is happening in Arunachal Pradesh, especially the act of the Governor in issuing a press release from Itanagar, stating that Khaliko Pul along with 18 others dissident Congress members met him and 11 members of the BJP along with two independent members offered support to Khaliko Pul who made a claim to form the government," Congress leader Kapil Sibal told the media here.

"We are very concerned over this development and we feel that the governor has acted unconstitutionally and out of line he should have never have entertained Khaliko Pul and the dissident of Congress and others are less than two thirds," he added.
Sibal further said that the Congress leadership has informed the President that any act of Centre to swear in Khaliko Pul would be unconstitutional.
"We have requested him to take a note of it and ensure that the Constitution is followed and obeyed," he added.
