Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Monday said that the leaders of the Congress party feel ashamed of saying 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'.

"There is one Congress candidate in Bikaner, Rajasthan, who was going to file his nomination. There was one man standing next to him. As soon as he said, 'Bharat Mata Ki.' the leader put his hand on his mouth in between, and said something in his ear. Thereafter the Congress party worker started saying, 'Sonia Gandhi Ki Jai'. Do these people, who feel ashamed of saying 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', should be allowed to stay in politics? You feel ashamed in saying, 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'," Amit Shah said while addressing a rally here.

Shah further took a potshot at Congress leader Kamal Nath and said, "They keep asking us, 'What have you done?' Kamal Nath, it's not good for health to speak loudly at this age. You might fall ill. We are concerned about your health. Politics will keep on happening, please look after your health. He asks what Prime Minister Modi has done for Madhya Pradesh. Kamal Nath, you are asking us for a tally of our four-and-a-half years in Centre. I want to know what the four-and-a-half generations of the Gandhi family have done."

Madhya Pradesh will go to polls to elect legislators for its 230 constituencies on November 28. Results will be declared on December 11.

While the BJP is aiming to retain the state for the fourth time, the Congress is pulling all stops to regain the power it lost in 2003 assembly elections.
